The Celtic Story is a story that grows in the telling – inspiring and heart-warming, it is guaranteed to stir the souls of the Celtic-minded. The sign above the main entrance to Celtic Park proclaims 1888 as the year the club was founded; and that is the year from which all the important anniversaries have since been calculated. However, The Celtic Football Club was actually established at a meeting in the hall of the St Mary’s Parish in the Calton district of Glasgow on 6 November 1887.
