NO-ONE who witnessed panelist David Wierd’s shell-shocked visage and wildly OTT comments during and after the recent Scottish Championship play-off final second leg at Fir Park will be surprised at the unveiling today of the latest Sevco management team – or, in the “wake” of the stunning outcome of that encounter … in another way, maybe they will.

It was written all over big Davie’s coupon that he and his boss, Mark Warburton, had been well and truly lined up to front next season’s latest stage of second-Rangers’ “journey” … only, it still being in the lower reaches of the SPFL wasn’t supposed to be in the script!

It is customary to wish new incumbents all the very best – but in this case, I’m resolutely resisting the temptation. Who in their right mind would ever take me seriously, anyway?
