In a post yesterday, I heavily implied that Dunfermline Athletic chairman, John Yorkston, would be likely to endorse a Newco Rangers’ continued membership of the SPL.  Reports this morning, however, suggest the opposite; and that he intends throwing his weight and vote behind sporting integrity.

Admittedly, in present circumstances, there is a highly probable overlap of his and his club’s commercial and moral considerations – but nonetheless, credit where credit’s due.  Strength to your elbow, JY.

It now remains to be seen whether sufficient of his SPL colleagues can summon the same moral fibre in defence of the integrity of our national game.
